2021 was a good year for zanagah.com
Despite all the challenges, we were able to do great things. Zanagah.com came as a change maker in the industry of handmade Moroccan rugs. Especially in the southern Morocco 🌼❤ .
Before “Zanagah.com” the women / weavers would get only 10% or 20% from selling their rugs. Middlemen get 80% or even 90% of all the profit. Despite the very little effort and role they play in the process of handweaving rugs ❗
The problem is, during the lockdown, those middlemen stopped buying rugs from the weavers. Leaving them suffering and struggling. Many of them didn’t have what to feed their children. AND THAT WAS JUST HEARTBREAKING TO US 💔
That’s why zanagah.com was created. It’s the first platform that provides 80% profits to the weavers. 10% to developing the community. By providing weavers the essential trainings in technologies and marketing. Also by providing their children with trips, schooling materials and trainings and much more 🌼🌼
We started very small, working only with 5 weavers, then 10, then 20. By the peak of Covid19 and in the lockdown, we were able to provide steady income to more than 50 weavers 😉🌼
That was miraculous. But it was impossible to do without all of our clients putting their faith in us and in our cause 💟
